Eve Air Mobility to Host eVTOL Panel at SXSW 2024

An Operator and Industry Advocate Will Join Representatives from  Eve and Embraer-X to Discuss Preparations for Global eVTOL Operations

MELBOURNE, Fla. March 11, 2024 — Eve Air Mobility (“Eve”) (NYSE: EVEX, EVEXW) will host a panel of air mobility experts to discuss preparing for electric vertical takeoff and landing operations at SXSW 2024 in Austin, TX. The panel, titled: Pre-Flight Check: Next steps to make eVTOL flights a reality, will be held on Tues, March 12, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. CT at The Line Hotel’s Onyx Ballroom. The purpose of the panel is to discuss the challenges and next steps to open up the skies for this next-generation form of travel – all within the next two years.

Eve Air Mobility’s panel participants will include:

  • Daniel Moczydlower, President & CEO, Embraer-X, Head of Global Innovation Ecosystems,
  • Embraer S.A. (moderator)
  • Clint Harper, Advanced Air Mobility and Community Integration Advocate
  • Liza Josias, Ecosystem Lead, Eve Air Mobility
  • Bryan Willows, Director, Americas – Advanced Air Mobility, Bristow Group

“SXSW represents the convergence of tech, film, education and culture,” said Debora Ambar, Head of Brand at Eve Air Mobility. “Eve Air Mobility is reimagining mobility with a focus on human connection and will make commuting more efficient and safer in the world’s busiest cities. With a goal of entering service in 2026, this panel will discuss what needs to happen in the next two years to make eVTOL flights a reality.”

This is the second year in a row that Eve will have a presence at SXSW. In 2023, Eve brought its cabin mock-up to display during the exhibition and received a large amount of interest in, not only the technology that could enable all-electric eVTOL flights, but also the benefits of a more efficient and environmentally friendly mode of transportation in cities around the world.

Eve’s all-electric eVTOL aircraft will carry four passengers, luggage, and a pilot up to 60 miles. Utilizing a lift + cruise configuration with eight dedicated propellers for vertical flight and fixed wings to fly on cruise, with no change in the position of these components during flight. The aircraft includes an electric pusher powered by dual electric motors that provide propulsion redundancy while ensuring high performance and safety. While offering numerous advantages including lower cost of operation, fewer parts, optimized structures, and systems, it has been developed to offer efficient thrust with low sound.
